The Civil Liberties Monitoring Project (CLMP) has organized a Humboldt County District #2 Supervisor Candidates’ Night, on Friday, October 10th, 2008, from 7 to 8:30 pm at the Veterans Memorial Building in Garberville. The public event is co-sponsored by CLMP and the Garberville Veterans Association. Attendees will be able to ask questions, and each candidate will have an opportunity to respond.

This candidates forum will start promptly at 7 pm.

Voters may register here to vote in the November 4th election.

All three candidates for District #2 Supervisor plan to attend. The run-off election is between Clif Clendenon and Estelle Fennell, and Johanna Rodoni is an additional write-in candidate. Each will make a short presentation which will be followed by Questions and Responses, moderated by a CLMP board member. CLMP is a non-profit organization and, as such, does not advocate any particular candidate.

Audience members are invited to ask questions that can be addressed by every candidate, and all candidates will have the opportunity to address each question. Voters may ask their questions directly, or may choose to submit questions on 3 x 5” cards that will be provided.

The meeting will be recorded and aired later on community radio.

Everyone is encouraged to attend this town meeting. Please call our office, 923-4646 with any questions, or check our website: www.civilliberties.org.

Copies of the extensive Report of Findings and Recommendations to the Board of Supervisors by the Code Enforcement Task Force will be available for a donation.
