SUPERVISOR CANDIDATE FENNELL SPEAKS OUT ON MEASURE T CHALLENGE
Estelle Fennell, candidate for 2nd district supervisor responded to a request to sign her name to statements put forth by proponents of the Ordinance to Protect Our Right to Fair Elections and Local Democracy (Measure T) as they face challenges in federal court:
"All of my campaign contributions have come from individuals and small local businesses. I have not accepted any campaign contributions from non-local corporations nor do I intend to in the future. I support Measure T, I voted for it and I honor the wishes of the voters who passed it into law 2 years ago."
Regarding the issue of "corporate personhood" Estelle stated; "I agree that corporations should not be treated as people. My campaign is rooted in the belief that people from all segments of the 2nd district deserve a supervisor who will champion their rights and work for the good of all. I am very proud to state that my endorsements and donations reflect a very broad cross section of our community and if elected, I will be a strong voice for my district."
Estelle addresses Humboldt County Union workers
Estelle addresses Humboldt County Union workers and their families gathered at Sequoia Park for this year's Labor Day Picnic. Other candidates to address the crowd included several City Council candidates as well as Assembly candidate Wes Chesbro and out-going 3rd district supervisor, John Wooley.
Estelle's message to the workers; "It's time the workers of the second district had a supervisor who will stand up for them. I'm very pleased that the Humboldt Del Norte Central Labor Council and the Operating Engineers Union Local 3 think I'm the gal for the job and I am proud to have their endorsement."
